Getting to Chawton

Chawton, near Alton, lies 17 miles east of Winchester. 64 and X64 buses leave from stop J at
Winchester Bus Station (opposite the tourist information centre) and reach Chawton roundabout in 30 minutes, a ten minute walk to the centre of Chawton.
Travel by train from Winchester Rail Station to Alton changing at Basingstoke then Hoo (Fleet) - a 1hr 25 min journey. Trains leave London Waterloo for Alton hourly.

To visit from Winchester by car, follow signs to the A31 then to Chawton.
To visit from London by car: from M25 Junction 12, M3 to Junction 5, B3349 to Odiham and Alton, follow signs for Chawton.
